Overview
Great Faith ("we", "us") is a service that helps you grow in your faith:
articles, Bible reading, free self-assessment tools, and features that
let churches care for their congregations. Some of what you share with
us — like your answers to a marriage or spiritual-health check-in — is
deeply personal, and we treat it that way. This policy explains what we
collect, why, and your rights over that data.
Information we collect
Account information
- Email address — used to authenticate you and contact you about your account.
- Name — shown on your account and, if you're connected to a church, to your church's leaders.
- Church connection — if you join a church via an invite link, we record which church your account belongs to.
Sign in with Google
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and
profile photo from Google. We never see your Google password.
Content you create
- Assessment responses and results — your answers to tools like the Spiritual Gifts assessment, the Spiritual Health check-in, and the Marriage Health check-in, and the resulting reports. You can take a tool without an account; if you later create one, your result can be attached to it.
- Sharing choices — if you explicitly choose to share a marriage growth summary with your spouse, or detail with your pastor, we record that consent (and its revocation).
- Newsletter subscription — your email address if you opt in.
- Giving — if you give, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details; we never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of the amount and date of your gifts.
Device and usage information
- IP address and request logs — standard server logs used for security and debugging.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how the site is used, and we track opens/clicks on emails we send.
- reCAPTCHA — sign-in and sign-up are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which collects device information to distinguish humans from bots.
How your assessment answers are protected
These are the promises the product is built around:
- Private by default. Your individual answers and reports are yours. No one — not your spouse, not your pastor — sees them unless you explicitly choose to share.
- Marriage sharing requires both of you. A couple's growth summary appears only when both spouses opt in, the most sensitive topics are never shown as raw scores, and either spouse can stop sharing at any time.
- Church leaders see trends, not transcripts. If your church enables a tool, leaders see de-identified congregation trends (only above a minimum group size) and, for the marriage tool, care alerts that carry no answer detail. Per-person detail appears only if you chose to share it.
How we use your information
- To operate the site: your account, assessment reports, church features, newsletter, and giving.
- To send transactional email (like a spouse invitation you request) and, if you opted in, the newsletter — every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
- To prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve the product.
- To enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information
for third-party advertising. We will never use your assessment answers
for marketing.
How information is shared
- With your spouse or pastor — only what you explicitly chose to share, as described above.
- With your church's leaders — your name and membership if you joined a church, plus the de-identified trends described above.
- With service providers — Stripe (payments), SendGrid (email delivery), Amazon Web Services (file storage), Google (sign-in, analytics, reCAPTCHA), and Rollbar (error monitoring). These providers process data on our behalf.
- If required by law — we will respond to valid legal process where compelled.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us
to delete your account, we delete your assessment responses, sharing
records, and account record. Server logs and backups may persist for a
limited period after deletion.
Your rights
- Access and correction — view your saved results and details on your account page.
- Revoke sharing — stop sharing with your spouse or pastor at any time from your report; revocation takes effect immediately.
- Deletion or export — email hello@greatfaith.com and we will delete your account or provide a copy of your data.
- Unsubscribe — every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Children
Great Faith is not directed to children under 13, and we do not
knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child
has provided us with personal information, contact us at
hello@greatfaith.com and we
will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will
be communicated by email or on this page. Continued use after a change
constitutes acceptance.
