Three steps to get your congregation started

1

Set up your church

Create a free account and add your church by name. It takes about thirty seconds, and you become the church admin.

2

Share one invite link

You get a permanent link for your congregation. Put it in the bulletin, a text blast, or a slide — anyone who signs up through it is connected to your church.

3

Help people find their place

Members get a plain-language report on their top gifts and where those gifts fit in the life of a church — a natural on-ramp to a ministry conversation.

Make it yours

Most gift inventories make you take them as-is

Churches don't all teach the gifts the same way. So the assessment is yours to adjust before you ever send it out.

Turn gifts on or off

Your tradition may not teach every gift on the list. Switch off the ones you don't use and they simply never appear — for anyone in your church.

Edit the wording

Reword a gift's name, its description, or the statements behind it so it sounds like your church rather than a generic questionnaire.

Publish when you're ready

Changes stay in draft until you publish. Your members always see a finished version, never a half-edited one.

Past reports never change

Every completed report keeps its own copy of the questions and scores. Editing the assessment next year won't rewrite what someone received last year.

Where we stand

A member's results belong to the member

We built this so people would answer honestly, which means their report is theirs. Someone in your congregation can take the assessment, keep the result, and share it with you when they're ready — the sharing is their decision, not an automatic upload to a leader dashboard.

In practice that makes the tool easier to roll out from the platform. You're inviting people to learn something about themselves, not asking them to submit to an evaluation. Nothing is shared without consent, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Read our privacy commitments

Two more tools, if you want them

Both are off by default. Turn them on from your dashboard when the timing is right for your church.

Marriage Health Check

Couples take it privately and can choose to reveal a growth summary to each other. Leaders see a de-identified picture of the congregation, plus a quiet signal when a couple may need care — never the sensitive detail behind it.

Where are you with God?

An eight-question self-check on a healthy walk with God. Church visibility is aggregate only — you can see where your congregation is growing without ever seeing an individual's answers.

What churches use it for

Filling ministry teams

Instead of asking for volunteers from the front, start with what people are actually gifted to do — and invite them into it by name.

Small groups and classes

Run it as a session. Everyone takes it on their phone, then talks through the results together. It works well in a membership class or a new-believers group.

New member on-ramps

Give new members a clear first step that helps them belong somewhere, not just attend somewhere.

Questions pastors ask

Is it really free for churches?

Yes. Great Faith is a nonprofit and the assessment tools are free to every church, with no per-member charge and no card on file. If the work is worth supporting you can give, but nothing here is gated behind it.

Do my members need to create an account?

Anyone can take the assessment without signing up. Creating an account lets them save the report and reopen it later, and signing up through your invite link is what connects them to your church.

Which spiritual gifts does it cover?

Twenty-four in the default version — administration, apostleship, craftsmanship, discernment, encouragement, evangelism, faith, giving, healing, helps, hospitality, intercession, knowledge, leadership, mercy, miracles, missions, prophecy, service, shepherding, teaching, tongues, wisdom and worship. You can disable any that your church doesn't teach.

How long does it take someone to finish?

About six minutes. It's 72 short statements, one tap each, and it works on a phone — short enough to do in a service or a small group without losing people.

Can other staff see the church dashboard?

Yes. You can invite co-leaders by email from the dashboard. Invites are single-use, expire after fourteen days, and you can revoke access at any time.

Can I see an individual member's results?

Only if they share them with you. We think that's the right default: people answer more honestly when the report is theirs, and a shared result usually means they already want the conversation.
